What I meant by second-fiddle was in comparison to the then reigning singers like Rafi, or Mukesh for that matter. He worked on his own terms, all through his life. <br />Do you know that he was the most sought after star after the trio of Dilip/Rah/Dev for 7 years ( 1954 to 1960 )? Do you know that he produced Bengali movie and produced/directed/musicdirected/etc a few hindi movies.
